Today, members of the senior and learner bands held our first workshop with Laura, our composer who was chosen from more than 70 applicants. It was both great fun and a challenge for us all as Laura has never worked with a brass band before and it brought completely different approaches to creating music for the band members too. The aim is to collaborate on a brand new piece of music for the band, created over a 9-month period and culminating in a premiere performance at a concert in the City.

We're all very excited about the project as you might imagine :-)
