Da Trowie Song

This CD was available free at the Shetland Wool Week and I have played it every day just because it’s upbeat and cheery.
The last item on it is ‘Da Trowie’ song and I couldn’t make out a word of it because of the Shetland dialect. However, I eventually found the lyrics online and now all is clear when I see the words written down even if it’s still in the vernacular.

It’s been another dank, dismal day lightened by a visit from Porty daughter with yet another new -to -her bike to show me. It seems the one of mine she was enamoured with 4 weeks ago doesn’t quite fullfil all her exacting criteria, so she’s gone for a EBay bargain of a Whyte bike with drop handlebars. I’m sure you find this information riveting.
When I cycled in a group, the male cyclists knew the make of your bike and it’s gearing before they knew your name.

Much knitting was accomplished today, the plus side of bad weather.
