Autumn colours at Batsford
A mainly dry day with sunshine during the afternoon.
We travelled over to the Batsford Arboretum in Gloucestershire. The trees are in full colour, a wonderful display.
Algernon Bertram Freeman-Mitford began development of the Arboretum soon after he inherited the Batsford estate in 1886. The design was based on observations of gardens he had seen in China and Japan. He made major landscape changes to the existing area.
Fortunately the Batsford Foundation is maintaining the arboretum for all to enjoy.
