The Kaiapoi River Queen

Kaiapoi is a lovely riverside town 20 minutes or so from Christchurch.   It had a very popular river boat - the MV Tuhoe a schooner which was built in 1919, and unfortunately sank after grounding on the Kaiapoi River bar in 2015.
The sinking was a further blow to the town, badly affected by the earthquake of 2011.   But this week a new boat was launched in town.  The Kaiapoi River Queen, which operated at Malborough, will start cruising next month.
