Cuban Garbanzo Soup

Cuban garbanzo soup (with cabbage, chorizo, ham, potatoes, etc.).

This is a favorite dish. One of my grandmother’s neighbors, who learned I loved it when she brought some over once, would occasionally make it and bring it over when I visited as a child. I started making it myself in high school nearly 20 years ago. I still make it at least once or twice a year.
