Heading north up the Braes road

Accordsing to the Ordnance Survey map, where the road divides in Braes, The top road is the principle road and the bottom one the subsidary road. I can tell you that though this was the way it was originally the bottom road now takes most of the traffic and the top hardly any at all. Hence the bottom road gets plenty of maintenance and the occasional tar and chip whereas the top road gets infrequent patching and is in a very poor state.

Well, here we are, going north on the top road. with Ben Tianavaig in the middle and the Bealach Cumhang beyond which are at the commencement of Trotternish.
