Waxwings Etc.

No waxwings have visited the apples I've had out for weeks so I went to Stromness to find the flock reported there. Thanks to Margaret, who invited me into her garden to get close to the birds. She had lots of apples and other food out which was drawing in about 15 waxwings but also blackcaps, doves, etc. Afterward I walked along the shore and watched a cormorant gulp down a big flatfish.
