A man-made lake...
...and rainbow colours for today's Wide Angle Wednesday...
Called in to Pugneys Country Park on the way home from Pilates. The area was developed from a former opencast mine and a sand and gravel quarry and was opened to the public in 1985. Before that windsurfers used the water in an ad hoc way, but there is now a little light railway for children, a café and boat hire of all types. I used to run the odd sailing and windsurfing course for them at weekends. The rainbow coloured structure is part of a series of children's play constructions on the walking trail round the lake. The car park was pretty full, even on a damp and grey November day - nice to see it still thriving ;)
