in a blue sky

i heard it - before i saw it - and even then - i could’ve sworn it was a pigeon - yet that sound was of a gull - playing tricks on me - surely i thought - it was simply sound - bouncing off the mountains - but then it drew closer - and my suspicions were confirmed

a lone gull - flying free through the blue sky - calling for who - i didn’t know - because the rest of - the sky was empty - it made me a bit sad - on the other hand - a rare sighting in my neighborhood - makes this, for me...
