Emotional Landscape

Walking back home in the rain with my umbrella, I looked up towards a  pale grey sky and this single leaf was hanging on a branch. It will soon float to the ground. The wind and rain will see to that. But in that brief instant, when I looked up beyond the edge of my umbrella, this scene touched my heart. On the same branch, there were buds already formed for next spring. Two seasons connected in different stages of life. An emotional landscape indeed.
