MORE Frustration!
The dining table we ordered for the new place arrived about a week ago. Naturally, we had to put it together, and after Mr. W had carefully bolted all the legs to the central anchoring device, we were preparing to put the (very heavy) glass top on it when there was a sudden sound of rending wood, and the whole substructure collapsed in a heap on the floor! Thank God we didn't have the glass on it yet, or it would have made one hell of a mess. We called the store and told them what happened, and they were very apologetic, and promised to ship a replacement part out ASAP. Today (a week later) I received an e-mail telling me they'd just gotten around to ordering the part, and they'd let me know when they were ready to ship it to us! ASAP? Nope. They don't anticipate we will be receiving the piece until November 19th! Meanwhile, we have a 4-foot diameter glass table top taking up a lot of floor space in the living room.
(The photo at bottom right show what the table should look like when it's intact ...)
