Military Base
It's been a nice dry day and I enjoyed a few hours out and about doing some film photography whilst Mrs BB was in work. With her doctor this evening we've arranged a private Consultants appointment next week.
The blipfoto is of the former United States Air Force (U.S.A.F.) Base at Caerwent, near Chepstow, South Wales (UK). It's now defunct. However, in the 1970's and 80's it housed neuclear warheads in the underground of bunkers. It was a regular training ground for me, often with British Army doing training exercises. It's a massive complex, a small village, and part has been used for modern housing. Hopefully it'll never be recomissioned.
In the photo' you can see a lot of the base with the Bristol Channel on the horizon and the two severn bridges.
Near 2,000 years ago Caerwent was called Ventu Silurum and one of the largest Roman Villages in the UK which continued into the middle ages.
