Family Feed Time

We've started putting out bird feeders again as the weather has deteriorated.  I'd just gone out to refill the sunflower heart tube when this family of goldfinches headed in to take advantage.  They all seemed quite happy to share the feeder as long as another species didn't turn up.

I was meant to be volunteering today, but the weather put paid to that and luckily they got in touch with me just before I was due to head over to the park.

The only regret for the day was not being quick enough to capture an image of a sparrow hawk that came visiting this afternoon.  It briefly perched on a branch adjacent to the feeders, but the merest movement to pick up the camera was too much for its 'spidy' sense and it flew off over the shed.
