VENICE

People say Venice is a dead city, simply a museum but I’ve never seen it like that. It’s too scruffy and random and two steps away from the key sites you can find yourself on your own in deserted squares alongside empty canals. We had a weekend there with Jo and Martin as they are borrowing a flat and Martin, an art critic is writing a book. I am late catching up on Blip as the pictures didn’t upload and I couldn’t decide on the key images. But this, on the vaparetto in from the airport defined the grey, rainy, beautiful  weekend and gave something of the flavour of the place.
