My Mom's Garden
I went to visit my parent's today, as I almost always do on Thursdays. They live in Vancouver, WA, just over the Columbia River (and state line) from Oregon....it only takes me about 40 minutes to drive there. It was another lovely day (we're all beginning to feel a little antsy that it's not wet and rainy!) so I brought my camera with me thinking that I needed some new subject matter. My mom is now 91 years old and has Parkinson's Disease so doesn't move around too much, but we went outside to enjoy a bit of fresh air and sun.
Turns out my mom has a lovely Japanese Maple in her back yard - which is my blip for today. One of these days I'll be capturing images of frost, but for now I'm captivated by the colors of the remaining leaves.
The extra, if you can believe it, is of one of my mom's rose bushes. The roses close to their house had all succumbed to frost, but this one, tucked near a wall, had many blossoms on it. After I photographed this, I cut them and brought them in the house for her to enjoy.
