Members Group meet in the Falkland Palace Cellar
Very stormy and wet weather today resulted in something of an adventure driving to Falkland Palace.
Everybody arrived on time and after exchanging lurid tails of driving through flooded roads, we sat down to the serious business of having coffee and cakes.
We reviewed the 2019 events, and considered 2020. Several Member Centres have closed down and after a frank discussion we decided to continue. New committee members and a reallocation of duties made all the difference.
Today’s Blipfoto is of the Entrance to a rather damp Falkland Palace. Water pours through the gargoyles and give a cold shower to those who do not watch where they are going.
The journey home was less fraught, and after clearing a surface drain and ensuring a rainwater pump was working properly I made some lunch for myself.
Pat was in Edinburgh attending an art class at Scottish Arts Club and I arranged to pick her up from the Railway Station. Of course, the bad weather ensured the trains were running late.
The short trip home was fraught with water running from fields along with flooded roads, but we made it home safely.
Our weather, although bad was nothing like the storms that have battered Yorkshire. Of course, we think of the people who are caught in difficult conditions and for those who have lost their lives or been badly injured.
