Waiting for a Train (just not this one!)
Up at the crack of dawn to watch Rugby League today. I am very disappointed with the GB team's performance really. They are all very good players in their own right, but as a team they do not play well and they make a lot of ridiculous errors. It does not help that the coach plays people out of position. No-one really seems to know what they, or anyone else is doing. Contrast that with the Kiwis, who are a well-oiled machine.
Over to the Folks after that and it was chaos in the station. Many services heading north were cancelled altogether, and none went from the platform the boards said they would go from. Everyone would wait where the boards suggested, until moments before the train was due to arrive there would be a tannoy announcement accompanied by in-person announcements by a member of staff, of a platform change. This would trigger a mass stampede to the relevant platform to await the arrival of the train. There were extra passengers on most routes whose intended trains had been cancelled. They were hoping that there would be a train for their intended destination from another station along the line. I hope everyone managed to get where they needed to be eventually.
My journey was straightforward once the train arrived. I took this shot whilst on what turned out to be the wrong platform!
Ally-Dog is becoming a concern - he is becoming too over-protective of my parents. He bit my hand today when I was clearing away the lunch-pots. Maybe he thought I was stealing their food, despite the plates being empty.. And when Brian arrived to take me home Ally reacted like a billionaire's Doberman sighting a peasant on the premises!
