In which: their name lives for ever more

I used to have an ambivalent relationship with Remembrance as I became pacifist in my late teens after reading ‘Testament of Youth’ by Vera Brittain. As I’ve grown older I’ve come to feel that the best way to ensure peace is always to remember the loss of those from the past. My trip to the battlefields of Ypres and the Somme a fortnight ago meant I had to go to the York remembrance service today.

Never again.
