Memorial

Romsey’s War Horse memorial took on a welcome fresh appearance this week for today’s Remembrance Day celebrations. While poppy wreaths were traditionally placed on the town’s War Memorial, the War Horse statue a few yards away was adorned with poppies knitted and crocheted by members of the Women’s Institute. Creating a dramatic carpet of colour for the statue as well as individual poppies on the horse itself.
