Mary Mary quite contrary

Here is Mary Queen of Scots standing in the grounds of Linlithgow Palace. Looking out across what may have been her old gardens. No trace now.
The rhyme may refer to this Mary, or could also be Mary Tudor. Or it could be JC's mum. Who knows, lost in the mists of time.
