Old Bands Never Die

…...They just lose their hair.

50 years on and Wishbone Ash are still going strong, on tour until May 2020 (with a wee break over the festive period) and releasing their 25th studio album in January. They played the Jam House, a smaller venue than the first time I saw them at the Empire/Festival theatre back in the early ‘70’s but they can still make a lot of old folk (let’s be fair they were 95% blokes) happy with their tunes…..The band has one existing member, good old (69 years) Andy Powell still weilding his Gibson Flying V like it was back in the day. Great night, only downside was me not finding the ‘shop’ until I was leaving and they had run out of large tee shirts, I’ll have to look to the website.

In other news earlier in the day the Jambo’s returned to something like normality with scoring 5 but still a bit fragile in defence. Even better, 90 minutes and no injuries and no bookings, what is the world coming to?
