Finn Slough was a Finnish fishing community started in 1890's by a group of Finnish settlers. The families of the time bought and cleared the land, built their boats and sauna's and enjoyed a rich run of salmon. 

The original families have since moved but nevertheless, a homesteader community of residents persists.
