Twisted Shadows

Bright overhead sun shining through the twisted branches of these two trees created fascinating shadow patterns. Hand held photography is a whole lot easier with decent amount of light: better depth of field and less noise to deal with.

I photographed these trees once before in the frost and, liking their gnarly character, I thought them worth another shot. This time the focus is more on the shadow.

I heard they had 6" of snow back home yesterday - on the last day of October - I've not known it so early in my time there.
