This is an old toy. A Mammod working steam tractor.

It's a working steam engine I had as a kid. Peggy doing a school project on transport and asked
"Can I take your old trains in to school to show?"

She can def now take one, and the trailer that comes with it. Spent 3 hours or so taking this apart, cleaning, oiling and polishing it. Would like to fire it up and explain how it works to her. But I can't find the fire box, fuel or drive belts!

I got hours of pleasure from these things as a kid and this afternoon rekindled my interest...
