Charing Station

A trip down to Charing to catch up with John, an old friend from school days. We’ve kept in touch these 50 years through the whole gamut of family life to a time when we are both retired.

We had lunch at a newly opened pub called the Pig and Sty chewing over more than just the food. Neither Brexit nor the election were mentioned. We did talk extensively about life, illnesses (as you do when you get older) and our ambitions for the coming years. Very therapeutic for us both and not something men are renown to do.

I was hoping to catch the 14.41 train back from Charing, but our timing was out. The train was pulling out of the station as we arrived on the forecourt. Being the driver he kindly took me home (not too far) instead of waiting an hour for the next train.
