Family Time
When someone close dies - although it's a sad time - it's an opportunity for family to come together and talk and reminisce. That's exactly what we've been doing, drinking tea/coffee eating and talking.
Sue's daughter Sam and her fiance Paul are staying just now with their pet squirrel Alfie (a rescue from the vet where Sam works)
I was doing some cleaning - it's what I do in times of upset or stress. I dusted and vacuumed the living room for Sue as her back and hip are bad just now.
I was a bit nervous cleaning around the these things on the mantelpiece.
The unicorn is lead crystal and made by Sue when she did her pottery courses a few years ago. The clock is French and gold plated with porcelain picture panels but sadly the original finial is missing from the top and Tony replaced it with a brass one.
Sue can't remember where the swan came from but thinks it was a charity shop buy.
This evening we've been sitting round the fire chatting and there were visitors who were very nice. Tony had -for the last few years - been teaching the man how to mend clocks and now he does that for a job.
All in all it's been a pleasant day.
