Not Sure If This Is Food

I wouldn't want to be standing there when this branch of fruit finally breaks. It's probably not warm enough here for these to be actual edible dates. It looks like a lifetime supply.

I was a busy little kitchen bee this morning: made a batch of feijoa jam and then another of chutney. It just seemed reasonable to continue as long as all the kettles were out. The house smells spicy and sweet and delicious, but there are still baskets of fruit all over the floor. It is a very prolific tree, much like the palm above.
