Yet Will I Rejoice

Spent the morning picking olives to cure before our Roma friend comes to pick the rest. Pretty depressing, there are so few, and most are either shriveled up from lack of rain, or being eaten by some bug, like the shiny one in this photo. We can't wait for more rain as the heat has ripened them early and they're falling off the trees.

Reading a hugely inspirational and mind-enlarging book, Wilding, by Isabella Tree. A quote from the Sunday Times says it well:
Excellent... Anyone who is interested in how we share the planet - what it looks like, what we eat, and what nature can teach us - should read this book.
Surely that's all of us.

Gratefuls:
- going off for a meal with the Amigos, in Évora at Ricardo's, in a minute (so no more commenting tonight)
- this hopeful book
- that there still is beauty
