this sign is on a regular walking route but l noticed it today because l walked the circuit in the other direction! just down is a seat (a form in Lancashire) with a notice to say the ashes of the farmer are in that place - it makes me smile every time to think of him standing at the hedge watching the coos. now his grandchildren are playing in the same place - life goes on.
