GETTING CLOSER...

.... although it was a"fair day"... the fires are still growing in numbers and in some ways getting closer!

We had been over to Penrith Shopping (extra) and getting "stuff" done and with now 250 homes lost this week in New South Wales (many also in Queensland) it is sad to think their Christmas this year will be but a blur! Even with all the fund raising being done, nothing will replace your own "patch" at times like this.

The pic shows the fire about 50 kilometres away from us burning through Wollemi National Park has been pushed again today by the high winds. Sydney was covered in smoke this afternoon from this. It really shows on the Video clip around the 1 minute in just how the Gum tree leaves explode into a fireball from the Eucalyptus oil in the leaves.

We can only trust the next change coming through tonight brings some decent rain with it.... but it does not look like it!!
