Seeing things

Very fresh calçots...

... bought from the farmer whose field you can see on January 9th. I think the creative harvest pattern is due to the fact that he just goes down and pulls up some calçots whenever a buyer turns up at the farm. It was evening when I went up and the light was quite poor.
They will be grilled and eaten tomorrow, at l'aplec de Sant Hilari, a traditional gathering around the hermitage of Sant Hilari, a couple of kilometres out of the village.
Basically, the whole village traipses up to the hermitage and barbecues meat and calçots, dances sardanes and drinks lots of wine. I'm going up with a group of about ten friends and colleagues from work. I hope these will be enough calçots for us all!
