Neigh

'Neigh ... not the weather for racing!' he snorted but I bet there were a few disappointed race-goers here at Cheltenham today.

As the waters gradually rose round our house yesterday I had visions of lifting the furniture upstairs and as water started to seep through the new flat roof edges onto the newly plastered walls. We watched anxiously  through the deluge all day and I felt there never was a truer saying as, 'It never rains but it pours!'

We were going up to Yorkshire again to see parents but with decorators in and colours not quite being what they say on the tin I've had a day of chasing round trying to sort it. The decorator I've named 'weird bloke' for obvious reasons (well to me anyway) is insisting I know the ins and outs of the process of how he did the job and why it's not going well ........ really. I normally do a lot of our decorating ..yes really ... and we only got someone Hubs knows in because I wasn't confident I could do the specialist filling. Sharp intake of breath here.

Meanwhile I've had curtain lady arrive, phone calls from Social Services in Yorkshire for parents, Hubs leaving his phone in his briefcase which is the line the roof people are supposedly ringing on to make good the water leak in the roof (they didn't and they haven't) plus choosing and buying new paint for the lounge ceiling which I thought was ok but apparently not.

This is a brief and very edited version of some events of today. It HAS stopped raining and the water is going down having left a skim of slippy mud everywhere outside.

All good though :)
