Our last day on Harris
The forecast for today was good.
We were down on Scarista beach before the sun rose. The light was yet again amazing. It was hard to tear ourselves away to return to the house for a magnificent brunch.
Margaret had brought the necessary chemicals for us to try out making cyanotypes with various bits of ferns, grasses, heather and feathers. It would be fair to say that the results were less than perfect, but we enjoyed the process! I'd like to try more.
We had a talk on time lapse photography - looks quite complicated.
In the early afternoon we drove to Seilebost and the viewpoint above the beach. The light was amazing. There were seabirds on the beach, each on a tiny flash of brilliant white in the sun. We watched the storm clouds gathering and a few spots of rain fell on us, but nothing to mention. The result was a spectacular rainbow.
Finally, we went to Horgabost so that Margaret and Lesley could go for a swim. Rather them than me!! They went in slowly, but ran out!!
I thought I had finished shooting, when Jeremy suggested I try some intentional camera movement images. My blip is the one I like best of them all. It was fun and quite relaxing.
Back at the house we enjoyed lentil soup and a shepherd's pie. Then we saw a compilation of our images from the week and Margaret picked out things she had noticed about our work.
I'm packed, more or less, and ready for the long drive to Stornoway in the morning.
