Spitalfields Market
Today we finally made one of the trips we were going to do over Christmas. Albeit a slightly amended version.
Husband drove us to Spitalfields to mooch round god market and play choose a house.
The surrounding streets are stunning and we bought me two hats at a vintage basement market.
Husband got chatting to a geordie record dealer who appeared to be well connected with weller, Kelly jones, the Gallaghers et al. It all sounded very underground tourist patter but to be fair he did have a lot of photos placed around his stall with the coolest of cool. He either genuinely does know them - or hopefully they have the relevant restraining orders in place.
My tummy is regretting the two monster bowls of salad I have eaten today.
Husband was very tempted with the massive array of ethnic foods available with all the street sellers. It all looked and smelt amazing.
I'm glad husband insisted on driving as I really would not have lasted as long with train and tube journeys on top.
I successfully managed to negotiate the whole day without tripping up any kerbs or bumping into people (I was terrified I would jolt may back) in fact the only incident occurred when I tried to stop my hat blowing off in a gust and threw coffee over myself in the process. Oh and when we got home we had run out of tea spoons so I stirred the cuppa I made with a knife and whilst squeezing the tea bag promptly shattered the knife/blade and cut the top of my hand. Husband made a big enough substitute plaster out of kitchen roll and cello tape - well I couldn't expect to go a whole day without some act of clumsiness!!!
Uncle M has text. He was waiting off his flight from somewhere I can only think must be hell to Dubai where I believe he may get horrendously leg less in celebration of many many years away. It will be fab to have him safely home to start a new life safe n sound. Aunty C must be very excited but also very nervous about living (in the words of Monica) WITH A BOYYYYYY. even I've it is her husband of 21 years.
I've come up to bed - I think it's 9pm. It's the longest and busiest day I have had since 14th December. I am definitely on the mend good n proper woohoo
Happy and exciting times ahead.
