Gliding off and away

This morning S and I took her cousin P (visiting from London) to Muriwai to see the Takapu (Australasian Gannets) at their colony on rocks above the rough Tasman Sea.

I have added as extras a shot across the major part of the colony, and another gannet soaring on the strong winds, this one heading out over the Tasman Sea.
