Crumpet special

Never been much of an enthusiast for crumpets, whatever the time of day.  Until, that is, I hit on the idea of topping my crumpet with a poached egg!
What appealed to me was the way that an egg with a runny yolk would seep down through the crumpet providing an altogether more appetising meal than a toasted crumpet on its own.
Oh yes, I’ve tried them with butter, olive spread, and different flavour of jam, but none ever appealed to me greatly.
Now, the poached egg variety is something altogether different!   Yummy.
