Lunch
We went into Bishop’s Stortford this morning, which is where today’s picture of my lunch was taken.
Then we went to the Mensa meeting, which I host in Waterstones café; it was a good meeting with ten people attending. However, one of the guests, not me as the host, were told at the end of the afternoon, that we could no longer meet there as we were taking up too many tables for too long and they were losing customers and money. Apparently “a lot” of people visited the café this afternoon, but went away again as there were no tables. A very different attitude to the one three years ago, when Waterstones encouraged groups and offered a twenty-five percent discount on all food and drink purchased. They appear to forget too that members often buy books whilst at the meeting when considering their profits. I now have the job of finding somewhere else that allows groups; that might be difficult. Fortunately our December meeting is at Zizzi’s, but the advertisement for the January meeting will mean I need to find somewhere quickly.
The temperature at GMT noon today was seven degrees Celsius.
