Harvest

After being away from my garden during a very cold spell here, I returned to find a lot of the plants had died of cold. Some were able to be covered over and protected, but not everything.
The grandkids came round and wanted to do some chores for me, so I had Mayson harvest the ginger and turmeric, which had died back. This was about half the crop gathered from just a few pieces of root back in the spring. Quite a success I think!
The other half of the roots, I am drying in the dehydrator, to later be ground up into spice for use in cooking.
