Luke & Lewis

Lewis has been doing well at his new school, fitting into the 1st grade smoothly. He brought home Luke (classroom pup) to take care of for a whole week. Lewis was over the moon. Luke came with a kennel and a journal, which means Lewis is to record his week's adventure with Luke. Today we made a point of having a photo shoot to capture the experience. Lewis led me to the horses where he timidly held Luke up to look at one of the horses from a safe distance (he felt the horses might take a bite of Luke). Then out to the rope swing where he held Luke under one arm as they swung broadly in the air. He even sneaked back into the kitchen, filled a bowl with goldfish crackers and hide in their fort (under the bed) to scarf them up together. At bedtime, Luke was safely tucked next to Lewis, keeping watch over him. Oh, a boy and his dog!
