Light at the End of the Tunnel
This morning we flew from Melbourne to Hobart in Tasmania. A short flight, fortunately, as one woman a few rows behind spent the entire journey talking loudly and driving everyone crazy - I don't think she paused for breath at all!
Once in Hobart we took a taxi to our accommodation - quite good - and then back out for a visit to the MONA (Museum of Old and New Art) on the outskirts of the city, This is very new and somewhat unusual - a wacky version of Tate Modern and all built underground so lots of tunnels. I really enjoyed it but purely for its photographic potential as the art is hard to understand. An extra of a concrete panelled room with large pools of engine oil reflecting the room and another of a display of metal books - not light reading! Definitely worth a visit if only for its unusual displays.
A meal near the harbour before heading back for the night. We pick up a hired motorhome tomorrow and John is now working out how we can cover the entire island in a week!
