Passage West
In complete contrast to yesterday, cloudy skies offered only flat light producing a much calmer mood. I liked this little channel through the reeds with a patch of open water in the foreground, giving the impression of a way out into the wider world. The almost white featureless background provides a sense of the unknown beyond.
I tried adding a touch of brightness and colour to some patches of reeds to increase the feeling of recession and light coming in from behind. I also adjusted the ice patch in the foreground towards blue adding to the sensation of cold.
