Take One Mirror.........
..... and use it as a crude reflector for illuminating a still life shot.
Observe the patterns of light that are cast upon the background of your photographic subject.
Become irritated at the distracting patterns of light and move the mirror around to try to get rid of them.
Observe, with a gasp of delight, that the "strange patterns" are actually an upside down image of the trees outside the window.
Realise that the mirror is acting like a primitive lens and your subject's background is essentially a crude "negative".
Cast the now uninteresting still life set up to one side with a broad sweep of your arm.
Perform unbelievable contortions to focus the mirror image on different backgrounds whilst attempting to photograph it.
Think fondly of your photographic ancestors who went through the same pallaver and sense of wonder without the benefits of digital capture.
