Hubert

Poor Hubert is feeling a bit under the weather. We suspected he had a UTI again so I took him up to the vet this morning. He seems to have ‘bladder sludge’, which is thick calcium deposits in the bladder. Rabbits are prone to this if they eat too much calcium as they excrete calcium through their urine unlike other mammals. He had an ultrasound that showed some thickening and inflammation of his bladder and more sludge, even after they managed to get him to pass some. Antibiotics and a gut stimulant added to his current painkillers and antacid. He’ll need to switch to a low calcium diet too, so no more kale for this wee man. These buns sure like to keep us on our toes, but I’m so glad I have them.

Took a break for a bit, just needed some time to shut my brain off. Been off work for a couple of weeks, going back tomorrow. Going to make an effort to blip every day.
