Big House

I HATE this big house. Until recently there was a beautiful house here. It was small and wooden with traditional Cambodian decorations on the roof A lady and her two daughters lived there.At the front of the house was a cafe that served delicious coffee and breakfasts 7 days a week .It was always busy with people chatting and watching TV before work or picking up take away coffee as I often did.One day the lady tried to explain something to me.The next day the lady had gone and the house was rapidly knocked down Over the last few weeks this house has been built here. No one seems to know where the lady and her daughters have gone. I hope she sold the property of her own free will and got a good price for it but I doubt it.The desire by a small number of very rich Cambodian people to own even more than they do already is almost certainly contributing to the poverty that many of their fellow countrymen live with daily.
