During one of the usual odd conversations at work, happened to mention that Tony Hancock was buried at a church down near the M4, not that far from work.
After his suicide in suicide in Sydney, Australia in June 1968 his ashes were brought back to the UK by Willie Rushton and were buried in St. Dunstan's Church, Cranford.
It’s not the easiest thing to find, and is stuck at the end of a wall where to be honest it’s a bit overgrown. For someone who made so many people laugh it seems a bit of a sad end.
What’s nice is that people do know about this and there have been flowers recently placed there so he is still remembered by those who cared about him and his work.
