Starry night before the snow
A lovely clear night before waking to a fresh blanket of snow this morning.
This Blip is an attempt to capture the night sky and, although I'm quite pleased with it as a first attempt, I know I have much to learn and would welcome any input from those with more experience of shooting the night sky.
I found some aspects of trying to get a decent image quite frustrating. For example, I played about with the ISO setting, the aperture and the length of exposure for quite a while but couldn't quite manage a shot without some movement in it due to the length of exposure involved. If anyone has any tips on how to overcome this, I'd love to hear them.
I'm no astronomer but from the little I do know, some of the features visible in this pic are, the constellation of Orion, the Planet Jupiter and the Pleiades star cluster.
