Sheol an Iolaire

Blipped this memorial to the Iolaire tragedy’s at almost low tide this evening in Stornoway, around six. I’ve taken it before but not with a decent camera. It’s mesmerising especially in the dark. It was erected in January as part of the centennial memorial and has stayed there ever since surviving no doubt storms as treacherous as those 100 years ago. No family was not touched by this terrible event in one way or another. The survivors living with unimaginable pangs of intense guilt and loss.
