Calne (Tuesday 19th November 2019)

I read some sad news this morning. Recently, the swans that are often on the canal have been trying to land on the A4 by the Town Hall, and have been persuaded back onto the Wharf by caring locals. Unfortunately one of the two young swans was hit yesterday and had to be put down by a vet. The survivor was on the Wharf as usual this afternoon, while Mrs Swan was beside the Marden below Beach Terrace in Church Street.
