Coffee break

A change from landscapes and seascapes and a change in the weather - I'm just in from choir and though it's still cold as well as newly wet I'm sure the temperature has risen in the last few hours. Maybe it's the hot air from the leaders' (English) debate ...

The photo was taken during coffee break (with lebkuchen!) at our German class this morning, the last of the current run of three trials. We did a bit of work on verb endings, we tried some conversation but don't really know enough to get beyond "Good morning - how are you?" We also sang Stille Nacht, which was fine because I've frequently sung it in German and could show off a bit ...

I've really enjoyed these meetings. It's good to be thrown together with half a dozen people you don't know, and even better when they - and the teacher - turn out to be so congenial. I'd like the chance to keep it up, so we're hoping our feed-back forms were sufficiently enthusiastic.

Good rehearsal tonight too - the new carol started to sound as it had in my head, which is pleasing. I'm looking forward to actually doing it in public. Now for some toast ... and marmalade ...
