Trams in George
Oops! Moody monos are on hold again because I went on excursion into Sydney today. After years of construction, delays, court cases and sundry government bungling, Sydney's Light Rail system is about to receive a major expansion. In addition to the existing services from Central out toward Dulwich Hill, we will also see trams running every few minutes from Circular Quay, along George Street and out to the University of NSW at Kensington. The system is currently in technical testing and driver training mode.
I can remember when the old, original trams were scrapped back in the 1950s. Well it seems we have learned our lesson and have come round to grudgingly admitting that Melbourne was right all along in retaining THEIR system. Pssst. Just keep that last bit quiet, will you?. Whatever you do ... don't tell that lot down in Melbourne ... they get so insufferably smug when this sort of thing happens.
I'll DEFINITELY be back as moody as anything tomorrow. Okay?
